At the 2007 Emotional Intelligence Learning Systems’ world conference in Kingsville, Texas, Margo Murray was recognized by Drs. Darwin Nelson and Gary Low, with the first ever award for Personal Excellence. The EI world conference drew participants from India, Bulgaria, Jamaica, the Philippines, and all the United States. Margo was the keynote speaker, and described her work with using facilitated mentoring as a strategy for positive societal change. Her speech included examples and results with mentoring processes to solve a labor shortage problem in the automotive industry, by preparing youth with the competencies to work in service jobs, as well as leadership development in reproductive health to tackle major societal issues of starvation, the spread of HIV/AIDS, maternal mortality, and infant mortality in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.


 

(at MMHA) "Korean Graduate students, , Kang Hyesung, Baek Jangmi, Seo Injae, and Jin Taejeong, of Sookmyung Women's University in Korea, met with Margo at MMHA recently. The students research objective is to adapt successful mentoring processes for youth in Korea,"
